Good progress is being made at Tangiwai Substation where Connell Contractors are constructing a new ODID building and Switchyard extension directly for Transpower.
This is the first of the new design in New Zealand and Mike Gray and Dan Connolly have done a great job time keeping the project on time and budget. Precast panels were installed in early October 2016, and the roof cladding followed. Handover is due in mid-November.
Thereafter, the project moves on to the second phase of work for Broad Spectrum. Works involve new foundation pads, cable trenching and metalling works.
