Construct a sheetpile pit for a pipe jacking plant. The pipe jacking operation pushed three DN1950 concrete pipes 30 metres under three railway lines.
The sheetpile pit was seven metres by ten metres and was made of eight metres clutched interlocking sheets.
The pit was reinforced with 200 x 400 whaler beams and was dewatered using a six inch vacuum pump and a range of dewatering spears.
The pit was constructed to sit a pipe jacking plant inside. The pipe jacking operation pushed three DN1950 concrete pipes 30 metres under three railway lines.
The sheets were driven using a 35 tonne excavator and a Movax sheet piler.
The pit was excavated using a five tonne excavator.
